I worked with Solene to plan a walking tour for a multi-generational family trip to Paris, with ages ranging from 18 to 80 and with my parents both using canes to walk. Solene was very helpful in
selecting a walk tour in the Bastille area that matched with our interests and was manageable and enjoyable for my parents. We tasted chocolates, pastries and local delicacies that we would not have
discovered on our own. Solene is very personable and incredibly knowledgeable. Her tour was one of the highlights of our time in Paris. We took several tours from individual guides who were highly
recommended on various sites, and Solene stands out as the best of the bunch. I wish we had done all of our walking and museum tours with Solene! Highly recommend!

My wife and I took a pastry tour with Solene through Montmartre, and it was by far the highlight of our trip. Solene was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She taught us how to spot a real
Parisian bakery from a fake one and introduced us to some of the best pastries we’ve ever had. We would highly recommend booking a tour with her to any of our friends and family coming to Paris!

My family took three half-day tours around Paris with Solene in Sept 2021. We all agreed our time with her was one of the highlights of our time in France. We saw many cool parts of the city we would
have never known about, and learned a lot about life in Paris through the eyes of a local. Highly recommend spending time with her if you have the opportunity!

Our guide was fabulous! She has a great knowledge and appreciation for the wonderful architecture around Paris. She showed us gorgeous pieces of art and architecture that were visible to thousands
every day as they pass thru the train stations, eat in the cafes and shop in the stores--yet never really see them. She helped us to see and truly appreciate the beauty.

This excursion with Solene was so much fun! I found everything I was looking for. My new vase, candelabra and mirror are going to be treasured pieced for me to look back on and remember this trip. I

I lived in Paris for a while, but still made the right decision in asking Solene for a guided tour around Aligre flea market and Notre-Dame.
I was transiting in Paris with a customer from Southeast Asia. I wanted him to get a taste of our capital, of the way of life you can experience there. Not as a tourist, but as a real Parisian for a
day! I am happy we managed to give this to him, on top of the regular Galeries Lafayettes visit.
Solene made it possible, thanks to a very good preparation: she asked me about my customer’s hobbies, and offered the most interesting places fitting with his tastes. We ended up visiting a nice food
market, explaining how we apprehend food, quality products, local productions… with a degustation of nice pastries and flavored breads. We went after to flea market, answering my customer passion for
old clocks, and finished with a visit of Notre Dame. It has been a great day!
I would recommend Solene to anyone who wants to discover Paris with a local, to go beyond the postcard and traditional tours. She made a terrific job, and I look forward to the next opportunity to
offer such a nice gift to another customer… or to myself!

I have been to Paris many times but avoided going to the St. Ouen Flea Market because it seemed to be overwhelming and I didn't know where to begin. After going through the market with a private
guide who knew the vendors and her way around the market, I had a great experience and look forward to venturing to the market on my own the next time I am in Paris. Our guide was great haggling
prices for us in French and helping us use our time wisely by taking us to the booths that we were interested in. We left the market with our arms filled with treasures.

Solene was terrific! While this is touted to be a food tour best candy, bread, pastry, coffee in the area, since we were the only couple on this particular day, Solene accommodated our interests. As
art is our main interest, she took us to a flea market that we never would have found on our own, took us to artisan workshop areas, and taught us about the French and European standard and quality
certificates found on shop windows. She was most personable and generous with her time, staying as long as possible before her next tour. We definitely gained from her knowledge. Highly recommended!

We took the class at Gien and it was a highly informative and special experience. Solène has a superior knowledge of both contemporary and historic table settings and etiquette. The 2 hours flew by
as we were guided to recreate what we had learned into our own table designs. It was a lot of laughs and we had a great time. If you are interested in this topic, you will get so much out of it and
we ended with tea and treats in a private room at the lovely Gien store. Thanks to Solène out tables will look much more refined and glam!

break in a delightful restaurant.

Solene, my guide and I began our tour by going into the Gare Saint Lazare where she explained its special features.
In Mollard's, a traditional Parisian brasserie, we enjoyed coffee and conversation.
On Boulevard Haussmann we saw two examples of designer shopping combined with art nouveau architectural styles. Printemps and Galeries Lafayette have rooftop viewing areas and glass domes.
We finished our tour by visiting a bank. What a building!

I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with Solène. As my workshop was on a Monday, there was only me, and I had the opportunity to discuss all things French whilst painting my plate. We began with a
short video on the history of Gien, and then spend the rest of the afternoon painting and chatting. I have my small plate as a momento, and recommend this activity for anyone wanting something a
little different to do, especially as the approach is very personal and it is a pleasure to chat to Soléne. Painting talent is not really required, and there is help if you require it to mix and
select colours. If using the Metro, I recommend St Lazare, as you are walking straight onto the street, and is more direct.

through the beautiful and quaint district of Montmartre. We sampled pastries, learned about the art of bread making, we were delighted by the history of the area and thoroughly enjoyed our time spent

Visiting Paris I had many adventures! One was a painting class at the Gien store with Solene. I was her only student and we had the best time! She is a warm, friendly, knowledgeable gal who you feel
you've known forever! We also did a brocante tour on a Saturday for 3 hours. She was a great guide who knew many of the dealers. I even reconnected with an antique dealer [a friend of Solene's] I met
and purchased sterling silver from 15 years ago. I would recommend anyone going to Paris to get in touch with Solene [A Journey in Paris] and enjoy her and all of her tours! I hope we can keep in
touch and I know she will be part of my next visit to Paris!

I am pleased to recommend highly Solene Colas as a guide. She is clearly knowledgeable, but engages in real conversation rather than just reciting facts. She made the story of the Gare Saint Lazare,
its hotel, and the way foreign tourists experienced it many years ago quite vivid. She wove Art Nouveau into the fabric of an elegant bistro and the world famous Galeries Lafayette and Printemps
department stores, and more. Very enjoyable.

Clark C (USA), about Art Nouveau walking tour
The tour changed how we saw Paris. We started by learning about the architecture of the train station. Then we went to a beautifully preserved art nouveau brasserie. As we enjoyed a cup of coffee,
Solene, our fabulous tour guide, pointed out the art nouveau elements that surrounded us. We then ascended to see spectacular glass domes at the top of two art nouveau buildings. Our guide took us
behind the scenes to see how they were built. We climbed up even further and were rewarded by a breathtaking rooftop view of Paris. As we soaked in the views Solene pointed out architectural
hightlights around the city. Solene was everything you want in a tour guide: knowledgeable, engaging, and conversational. She answered our questions not only about architecture but also about the
best places to eat and about secret places away from tourists and crowds. If you are interested in architecture or even if you're not don't hesitate to book this tour!

This is a great tour, the best one we did in Paris last week. May 22, 2015 We met our tour guide, Solene, perfectly on time. We spoke for a few minutes and walked to the Rodin Museum. It was a fairly
quick visit, but we enjoyed our time there and we viewed amazing sculptures, like the Thinker. This is world class! I did not take notes, but rather many photos, as that is my love. We visited the
famous Veterans Hospital and Chapel, and learned more interesting French history. Afterwards we walked to a very special cheese shop and tasted delicious cheese, that Solene bought and gave us to
take back, to further enjoy in our hotel. We walked to a district with great food shops and we had coffee in a wonderful cafe, tasty pastry as well as bread.. Eventually we walked to the Eiffel Tower
and learned all about this very historical area, as well as the origin of probably the most visited structure on earth. This was or best tour, as our guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and
personable. Coincidentally we ran in to Solene later that day as she was guiding a private tour. Solene found us, in the midst of the busty City of Lights, as we where walking near the Paris Opera
House. The is a very special tour with a very, very special person and tour guide.

If using the Metro, I recommend St Lazare, as you are walking straight onto the street, and is more direct.

It was my first time to travel alone and I am really glad that I had Solene as my tour guide. She made an effort to know my interests and took me to places that I would like to see.
Paris is beautiful. I love it. And I love Solene. :)
Thank you for the wonderful time!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Art Nouveau walking tour with Solène as our guide. The hidden gems like the bank and the family owned bistrot were highlights and Solène was a friendly and informative guide. We look forward to our next visit. Many thanks.

"My husband and I took a tour of Montmartre with Solène, she was very knowledgeable of the area and took us to several pastry shops/boulangeries, in addition to Sacre Coeur. This was a walking tour through the beautiful and quaint district of Montmartre. We sampled pastries, learned about the art of bread making, we were delighted by the history of the area and thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with Solène. It was a beautiful and interesting tour which we would highly recommend for those interested in learning more about French culture".

Solène conducted the tour in a highly professional yet friendly and enjoyable way. I was given an insight into Paris that I would not have had otherwise. As a lover of art nouveau I found the tour to be well worth it. Thank you so much Solène.

"Never has such an idea about the making of ceramic, but after attended to this workshop and review of the Gien's history, I have a better understanding of it now.
The painting part is fun and memorable, just go if you enjoy ceramic-painting.
The location is easy to find, at the centre of Paris, you might spend some time to walk around the neighbourhood".

Visiting Paris I had many adventures! One was a painting class at the Gien store with Solene. I was her only student and we had the best time! She is a warm, friendly, knowledgeable gal who you feel you've known forever! We also did a brocante tour on a Saturday for 3 hours. She was a great guide who knew many of the dealers. I even reconnected with an antique dealer [a friend of Solene's] I met and purchased sterling silver from 15 years ago. I would recommend anyone going to Paris to get in touch with Solene [A Journey in Paris] and enjoy her and all of her tours! I hope we can keep in touch and I know she will be part of my next visit to Paris!

I am pleased to recommend highly Solene Colas as a guide. She is clearly knowledgeable, but engages in real conversation rather than just reciting facts. She made the story of the Gare Saint Lazare, its hotel, and the way foreign tourists experienced it many years ago quite vivid. She wove Art Nouveau into the fabric of an elegant bistro and the world famous Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores, and more. Very enjoyable.

Clark C (USA), about Art Nouveau walking tour
The tour changed how we saw Paris. We started by learning about the architecture of the train station. Then we went to a beautifully preserved art nouveau brasserie. As we enjoyed a cup of coffee, Solene, our fabulous tour guide, pointed out the art nouveau elements that surrounded us. We then ascended to see spectacular glass domes at the top of two art nouveau buildings. Our guide took us behind the scenes to see how they were built. We climbed up even further and were rewarded by a breathtaking rooftop view of Paris. As we soaked in the views Solene pointed out architectural hightlights around the city. Solene was everything you want in a tour guide: knowledgeable, engaging, and conversational. She answered our questions not only about architecture but also about the best places to eat and about secret places away from tourists and crowds. If you are interested in architecture or even if you're not don't hesitate to book this tour!

My boyfriend and I took a short tour in Montmartre which was very impressive by an easy-to-understand explanation and a very good English! We have tasted Baguette from the best boulangerie in Paris as well as Sacre Coeur. If I have a chance to come back, I'll try to take another tour with them again.

An excellent tour that I felt really gave insight into the way normal Parisians live, as well as highlighting some of the best things about Paris and France in general. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgable about all of the areas we visited and was more than willing to discuss daily life in France with me we had a great chat about life in France vs the United States where I am from. Highly recommend taking this tour for a balanced look at life in Paris and some beautiful sites as well.

Solène was a wonderful guide for les arts nouveaux. She made the area come alive like as if we were arriving for the World Exposition. The hidden gems in the area are breath taking. You would never guess that the large glass domes and the intricate tile work were just around the corner. Beautiful!

This is a great tour, the best one we did in Paris last week. May 22, 2015 We met our tour guide, Solene, perfectly on time. We spoke for a few minutes and walked to the Rodin Museum. It was a fairly quick visit, but we enjoyed our time there and we viewed amazing sculptures, like the Thinker. This is world class! I did not take notes, but rather many photos, as that is my love. We visited the famous Veterans Hospital and Chapel, and learned more interesting French history. Afterwards we walked to a very special cheese shop and tasted delicious cheese, that Solene bought and gave us to take back, to further enjoy in our hotel. We walked to a district with great food shops and we had coffee in a wonderful cafe, tasty pastry as well as bread.. Eventually we walked to the Eiffel Tower and learned all about this very historical area, as well as the origin of probably the most visited structure on earth. This was or best tour, as our guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and personable. Coincidentally we ran in to Solene later that day as she was guiding a private tour. Solene found us, in the midst of the busty City of Lights, as we where walking near the Paris Opera House. The is a very special tour with a very, very special person and tour guide.

Solène was wonderfully helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. We cannot recommend this highly enough not only did we get an off the beaten path experience, but two unique souvenirs and an amazing memory. Truly one of the highlights of our trip and something that we will be talking about for years."
